weekend inventory

As you can imagine weekends over here are slightly uneventful.  With a newborn just under two weeks old I am still feeling pretty reclusive.  It took everything in me to go to Target on Saturday, but for our first trip to Target as a family, I would say it went pretty well.  And Friday I actually drove with Baby Henry for the first time by myself.  He had a doctors appointment.  He will be two weeks old tomorrow but his two week appointment was on Friday.  At birth he weighed 7lbs 11oz and at his first doctors appointment after we got home from the hospital he weighed 7lbs 4oz.  Well on Friday my baby boy weighed in at 8lbs 5oz!  Hank the Tank!!

I could take a million pictures like this of my husband holding my son.
So it may sound like an uneventful weekend, but for my new mommy bones it was all sorts of eventful.

october 9th

October 9th proved to be a life changing day for me for the second time.  Two years ago I married the love of my life and last week we got the very best anniversary gift we could have ever imagined.  We welcomed our son and began the newest chapter in our lives.  I am so overwhelmed with love and emotion.  These are truly the best days of my life.

sitting, waiting, wishing...

I am not a particularly patient person.  Not at all in fact.  When I want something, I get it.  I don't wait.  Waiting for baby Hank is certainly a lesson in patience for me.  The doctor said on Monday that I had progressed.  2 centimeters dilated and 100% effaced.  I was on cloud nine after that appointment.  I was sure that our next appointment scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday would never happen.  Considering I am having absolutely no contractions as of today though, would likely indicate that I will be making that bright and early doctors appointment tomorrow.  So, we wait, walk, wait, nap, wait and wish for the sweet boy inside of me to show himself...

Patient puppies...

Hoping this is the last dinner I make before baby Hank arrives...

weekend inventory

It was Kady and Mike's wedding weekend!  The weather was as beautiful as the bride.  The dress I planned on wearing (and tried on LAST week) didn't fit due to the ever expanding free loader inside of me.  He has no plans of moving out anytime soon clearly.  It didn't even matter though because I was so happy to see my friend marry the love of her life.  I cried the second I saw her.  They opened the doors to the back of the church and the flood gates to my eye balls at the same time.  It was a really perfect day.

Sunday we recovered at lunch with Marianne, her hubby Alex and the teeny bump she's toting around.  That hot mama showed up to eat in her sassy leopard print pants!  So jealous!  Can't wait to fit into my own leopard skinnies real soon.  It was fun to swap hormonal wifey moments and I think it made our husbands realize it's totally normal pregnancy behavior.

Hope you had a lovely weekend!  I'm heading to my 39 week doctor appointment today and I am really hoping for the best over here.  Come on baby Hank!!
